SUMMARY:Leadership in Organizational Change
DESCRIPTION:UN-Common Sense: Leadership in Organizational Change\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nSpecial Guest Hosts Aldo Rall\, Gareth Holebrook and Horia Slușanschi joined Joshua Barnes\, Al Shalloway and Steve Tendon this week! What are more effective ways to structure and approach organizational change for the better? What role does the organization’s Leadership have in organizational change?  \n\nWhy UN-Common Sense\nAs popular as Agile is\, its success rate is not particularly high. Your three hosts believe this is because most organizations are being led by cargo cult and echo chambers. Many brilliant and proven concepts are not in any of the more popular approaches. This has resulted in a huge gap between what is possible and what is being achieved. The Uncommon Sense sessions will present many concepts that organizations should be using but that are not popular while also uncover myths present in popular methods that are holding organizations back. \nThe hosts of Uncommon sense are either creators of cutting edge\, but proven approaches (Al\, Steve) or an experienced trainer / practitioner in Agile methods. This will ensure you get both the theory and the practice of the methods being described. \nPMI PDU’S\nAre you a PMI member? You can maintain your certification status by earning Professional Development Units (PDUs).  PMI certifications require you to earn a certain number of PDUs over a 3-year cycle. DA certifications require seven (7) PDUs in agile topics per year.  \nView the breakdown and requirements by certification. \nPMI Assigned PDU Claim Code for this session (1 hour):  4972CZ1LX2 \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Title: Leadership in Organizational Change\nSpecial Guest Hosts: Aldo Rall\, Gareth Holebrook and Horia Slușanschi \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About UN-Common Sense\n Uncommon Sense is a weekly session hosted by Al Shalloway\, Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes.  The intention is to rethink many myths in the Agile space while presenting proven\, but little used\, concepts and techniques. The hosts of Uncommon Sense sessions represent the only two full value stream approaches that incorporate Patterns\, Lean\, Flow and Theory of Constraints while also attending to the human elements and culture of an organization! \n \n \n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Host: Joshua Barnes\n \n\nJoshua Barnes is the Founder of Process Mentors\, Inc\, a PMI Authorized Training Partner. SUMMARY:The Opposite of Agile used to be Waterfall – Those Days are Long Past!
DESCRIPTION:UN-Common Sense: The Opposite of Agile used to be Waterfall – Those Days are Long Past!\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe opposite of Agile used to be Waterfall – those days are long past. What is next and why? Please join Steve Tendon\, Al Shalloway\, and Joshua Barnes for a discussion lead by Clarke Ching where he will “take us off the beaten track\, looking for truffles!”. \nClarke is the author of The Bottleneck Rule\, Rolling Rocks Downhill\, and Corkscrew Solutions. He’s a computer scientist with an MBA\, has been powered by the Theory of Constraints (ToC) and Lean for over 25 years and Agile since 2003. \n\n\n\n\nWhy UN-Common Sense\nAs popular as Agile is\, its success rate is not particularly high. \nPMI Assigned PDU Claim Code for this session (1 hour): 4972RDFYK1 \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Title: The Opposite of Agile used to be Waterfall – Those Days are Long Past!\nHosts: Joshua Barnes\, Al Shalloway and Steve Tendon \nSpecial Guest: Clarke Ching \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About UN-Common Sense\n Uncommon Sense is a weekly session hosted by Al Shalloway\, Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes.  The intention is to rethink many myths in the Agile space while presenting proven\, but little used\, concepts and techniques. SUMMARY:What Does Leadership Need To Know About Agile?
DESCRIPTION:UN-Common Sense: What Does Leadership Need To Know About Agile?\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nJoshua Barnes and Steve Tendon will discussed what “Leadership needs to know about agile (and what they need to NOT know). What skills / knowledge / concepts are needed?  \n\n\n\n\nWhy UN-Common Sense\nAs popular as Agile is\, its success rate is not particularly high. \nPMI Assigned PDU Claim Code for this session (1 hour): 4972HJNV46 \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What Does Leadership Need To Know About Agile?\nHosts: Joshua Barnes and Steve Tendon \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About UN-Common Sense\n Uncommon Sense is a weekly session hosted by Al Shalloway\, Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes. SUMMARY:Understanding Value Engineering with Special Guest Host Tom Gilb
DESCRIPTION:UN-Common Sense: Understanding Value Engineering with Special Guest Host Tom Gilb\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nTom Gilb brought his insights in Agile Engineering or “quantified value(s) agile.”   \n\n\n\n\nA few of the focus points included:  \n– Systems Thinking: even for programs\, you need to integrate people\, data\, legal\, hardware\, cloudware\, and more. \n– Stakeholder Engineering: not merely “customer and user” – Stakeholder Stores\, Stakeholder Xperience (SX not UX)   \nTom has been practicing incremental value-delivery since 1960 and has written many books on his experience. He is still trying to get people to understand Value Engineering and quantified thinking. \nWhy UN-Common Sense\nAs popular as Agile is\, its success rate is not particularly high. \nPMI Assigned PDU Claim Code for this session (1 hour): 4972NEHO7T \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Understanding Value Engineering\nSpecial Guest Host: Tom Gilb \nHosts: Joshua Barnes\, Al Shalloway and Steve Tendon \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About UN-Common Sense\n Uncommon Sense is a weekly session hosted by Al Shalloway\, Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes. SUMMARY:What Do Agile Teams Need To Know?
DESCRIPTION:UN-Common Sense: What Do Agile Teams Need to Know?\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This week’s Un-Common Sense live event will discuss what concepts Agile Teams need to know (and what they need to NOT know). What skills / knowledge / concepts are needed by the AGILE TEAM? \nWhy UN-Common Sense\nAs popular as Agile is\, its success rate is not particularly high. \nPMI Assigned PDU Claim Code for this session (1 hour): 4972SE8KAC \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What Do Agile Teams Need To Know?\nHosts: Joshua Barnes\, Al Shalloway and Steve Tendon \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About UN-Common Sense\n Uncommon Sense is a weekly session hosted by Al Shalloway\, Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes.  The intention is to rethink many myths in the Agile space while presenting proven\, but little used\, concepts and techniques. SUMMARY:Two Constituent Parts That Project Management Has with Special Guest Host Ian Heptinstall
DESCRIPTION:UN-Common Sense: Two Constituent Parts That Project Management Has with Special Guest Host Ian Heptinstall\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n A special day for the “UN-Common Sense session this week! On Wednesday\, July 21 at 3 pm ET\, hope you can join Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes for a free LinkedIn Live event for a discussion lead by Ian Heptinstall where he will explore his idea of  “Two Constituent Parts That Agile Project Management as a “Method” Has.   \nIan is not an Agile Project Management specialist\, nor software or IT guy. His project experience comes from the world of capital projects (buildings\, factories\, construction\, infrastructure)\, where he has worked both for project owners such as chemical and pharmaceutical companies and in the supply chain supporting other people’s projects. He is the author of “The Executive Guide to Breakthrough Project Management.” \nWhy UN-Common Sense\nAs popular as Agile is\, its success rate is not particularly high. \nPMI Assigned PDU Claim Code for this session (1 hour): 49723HSHOF \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Two Constituent Parts That Project Management Has\nGues Host: Ian Heptinstall \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About UN-Common Sense\n Uncommon Sense is a weekly session hosted by Al Shalloway\, Steve Tendon and Joshua Barnes.  The intention is to rethink many myths in the Agile space while presenting proven\, but little used\, concepts and techniques.
