I am excited to share with you that my first on-demand LinkedIn Learning course, “Introduction to Disciplined Agile,” is now live. This is the first in a suite of LinkedIn learning courses on Disciplined Agile that I will be releasing that will include covering: DA for non-software value delivery, common scenarios for choosing your way of working, lifecycles of DA, and understanding what good looks like.
I am very passionate about on-demand training as part of anyone’s learning journey. As an instructor who has trained thousands of people and a learner myself (I regularly take courses), I have thoroughly embraced this format and have seen the positive results both with organizations as a whole and individual students.
On-demand learning is a wonderful option to be able to take control of your knowledge. You can learn at a pace and a time that works for you. As the suite of courses gets released, you will be able to incorporate them into your learning journey in the most flexible format there is, on-demand.
I designed this course to introduce Disciplined Agile and teach key differentiators, focusing on why it is a toolkit vs. a prescriptive framework. I explain how Disciplined Agile brings together guidance from the world of agile frameworks and bodies of knowledge – enabling freedom of choice to make your way of working fit for purpose. I also break a few common myths about DA. By the end of the course, you should have a foundational understanding of the strategies, principles, and practices that teams choose from.
The learning objectives:
- What is Disciplined Agile?
- Differentiate between a toolkit and a prescriptive framework
- Recognize what makes up Disciplined Agile’s DNA
- Value of the four views that describe DA: Mindset, Flow, Practices, & People
- How to ensure your way of working is fit for purpose
The course is broken down into short videos, ranging from 1-minute to 5-minutes in length. LinkedIn Learning is a compelling platform with multiple ways to watch the course, such as a web browser, downloadable to your device, and a mobile app.
